Slow on purpose

Turkish coffee cannot be rushed and should not be. Coffee ground to powder goes into the cezve with water and whatever sugar you asked for, comes slowly up to a foam, and is poured — grounds and all — into a small cup where they settle over a minute or two.

At an event that slowness becomes the attraction. Guests stand and watch the pot. It is a demonstration as much as a drink, which is why it belongs at a booth with someone behind it rather than inside a machine.

Sweetness is decided before it is brewed

Unlike almost anything else on a drinks table, Turkish coffee has its sugar added during brewing, not after. We ask each guest as they order — plain, a little, or sweet — and brew accordingly. It is a small interaction that guests consistently remember.

How it works

A booth, a counter, and a queue that keeps forming

The Dubai Karak team standing inside their branded canopy booth at an outdoor event

We bring a branded canopy, a served counter, and pots of tea and coffee brewed the way they are brewed in the Gulf. Because everything is brewed in volume before the doors open, we hand out a hot cup every few seconds rather than every few minutes.

That matters most at the moments events actually get busy: the end of a ceremony, a conference break, the hour after sunset at a Ramadan bazaar. The booth is designed to absorb a crowd, and the setup is designed to be photographed while it does.

  • Branded canopy, calligraphy panels and feather flags included
  • Served counter — guests are handed a cup, not left to self-serve
  • Hot and cold menu so the booth works in July as well as December
  • Indoor or outdoor, with our own setup and breakdown

★★★★★
Honestly one of the best Karak experiences in California. Mohammad really knows what he's doing. Every cup hits different, rich, smooth, and full of authentic Eastern flavor. You can literally taste the spices, the warmth, the culture in every sip. It's not just tea, it feels like a small trip to the Middle East right here in Cali. If you're into real Karak, this place is a must.

I had the pleasure of having The Dubai Karak at my birthday celebration, and they truly exceeded every expectation. They were so kind, generous, and welcoming, creating such a beautiful atmosphere from the moment they arrived. The karak was absolutely amazing, rich and authentic, and they offered so much more than just drinks. Every detail, from their presentation to their outfits, was executed perfectly from A to Z. They brought such a luxurious, elevated vibe that made everyone fall in love with the experience and truly made my party unforgettable!

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is Turkish coffee made?

Very finely ground coffee is simmered with water, and sugar if requested, in a small long-handled pot called a cezve. It is brought up to a foam and poured unfiltered into a small cup, where the grounds settle at the bottom.

Do you drink the grounds?

No. The grounds settle at the bottom of the cup and you stop drinking before you reach them.

Can guests choose how sweet it is?

Yes, and they have to choose before it is brewed, because the sugar goes in during brewing rather than after. We ask each guest as they order.

Is it practical for a large event?

It is brewed a few cups at a time, so for very large crowds we run it alongside karak and Arabic coffee, which pour much faster. That way the Turkish coffee stays a feature without becoming a bottleneck.

Do you also serve Arabic and Saudi coffee?

Yes. All three traditional coffees run from the same counter, along with French coffee and a Spanish latte.
